A lot of people recognize me from Max Workouts, that’s a fitness program my husband and I started back in 2008 and since then more than half a million people have done that program. (It's still so surreal!)
But here's what a lot people don’t know about me...
It was back in 2017, I was 38 at the time. I found out I was pregnant. We were so happy and I can remember thinking about how I was going to workout during pregnancy, and you know, modify what I normally do to stay fit and healthy. I started meal planning, we went to the grocery store and bought the healthiest whole foods available and even a bunch of supplements.
I was going to have the healthiest pregnancy I possibly could. Except I didn’t....
5 weeks and 3 days in (yes, I remember it to the day), I woke up and I said to my husband, “Ugh, I’m not feeling very well. Maybe I ate something bad.” A wave of intense nausea had come over me. Then I realized, oh wait a second you know, they call it “morning sickness.” Except it wasn’t just in the morning. It was alllllll day. And this went on every single day, all day long, for the next 8 months, until after my son was born.
So, I didn’t workout at all during that time...and my diet was terrible. You know, while my best friend had the pregnancy “glow”, I walking dead. I can laugh about it now, butit was really bad.
Soon after my son was born, I wasn’t sick anymore. When he was about 3 months old, I was getting used to my new not-sleeping schedule, so I started working out again. And let me tell you, was I starting from zero.
Remember, a year had gone by with me doing nothing and eating poorly. Not only that, but now I’m a mom, I’m still running a business and have no time for the gym. The 30 minutes it takes to get there and back -- I no longer had that.
So I decide I’m going to workout at home. And being realistic, I knew I had a maximum of maybe 20-25 minutes per day to workout. (That's still true. Maybe when he’s 18 I’ll have more time!). Point is, I had no time to waste, so I needed to design something that would be effective in that short amount of time.
So I put my nose to the grind and I created a high-intensity, at-home workout program designed for specifically for women, using only dumbbells. And that’s how Burn360 and the 21-Day Metabolic Reset was born.
